GOSSELIES, BELGIUM – JUNE 9TH, 2020:
OncoDNA (“OncoDNA or “the Company”), the healthcare technology company making precision medicine a reality, announced today the launch of the CDS Challenge operation, a worldwide contest that aims to raise funds for DiCE (Digestive Cancer Europe) while challenging biologists’ expertise. Through the Clinical Decision Support challenge, OncoDNA will give oncogenomics data interpretation experts the opportunity to challenge themselves by solving three patient cases in the shortest time. But as every wrong answer will add malus points, players should be very focused when solving patient cases. Who will be the best oncogenomics expert at the end of the challenge?
WHO CAN PLAY?
Is using interpretation of oncogenomics data to provide the patient with a personalized treatment is a part of your daily job? Then, you are the one who should be able to rise to this challenge… aren’t you?
HOW TO PLAY?
Do you want to take part in the CDS Challenge? Nothing easier, visit www.cds-challenge.com, register yourself and start the challenge. To complete the challenge, you will be asked you to classify variants based on their therapeutical impact and provide the oncologist with the right treatment options. If you are the best, it should take only a few minutes.
PLAY FOR A GOOD CAUSE!
OncoDNA will donate 100€ to DICE (Digestive Cancer Europe) for every participation; therefore, there is no grand prize, only the satisfaction of knowing you have helped cancer patients. Play now on www.cds-challenge.com
STEFAN GIJSSELS, CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER AT DICE, SAID:
«We welcome this initiative by OncoDNA and we look forward to an active participation of many scientists. It is only by pushing the boundaries of scientific knowledge that medical practice will change and patients benefit. As everyone knows, the challenges of cancer patients are very high, and we, as patient organisations, try to assist where possible».
JEAN-POL DETIFFE, CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER AT ONCODNA, ADDED:
«We are delighted to support DICE association in order to maximize the number of European cancer patients who should have access to the best practices to decrease mortality from digestive cancers and to increase overall survival and the quality of life».
ABOUT DICE : Digestive Cancers Europe (DiCE) is the European umbrella organisation of a large group of national Members representing patients with digestive cancer – colorectal, gastric, pancreatic and rare cancers. Our mission is to contribute to early diagnosis and decreased mortality from digestive cancers and to increase overall survival and quality of life. DiCE was established in 2018 by Jolanta Gore-Booth, Stefan Gijssels, and Prof. Dr. Eric Van Cutsem. It grew from EuropaColon that was founded in 2005 by Jolanta Gore-Booth. In Europe, around 800,000 citizens get diagnosed with a digestive cancer every year, and 500,000 of them die. The facts demonstrate that a significant part of these deaths are avoidable. The use of best practices can save a lot of lives. Unfortunately, there is not one country in Europe where best practices are applied systematically. We want best practices to be applied everywhere so that citizens across Europe can gain access to the best high-quality cancer care.
